Aftercare
Remove bandage after 1.5 to 2 hours
Wash tattoo with warm soapy water using your hands. No loofahs or wash cloths. Dial hand pump soap is a great mild antibacterial soap we recommend.
NO BAR SOAP!
Air dry your tattoo after cleaning.
Go get some Lubriderm. You can pick it up at any drug store or we carry travel sizes in stock for your convenience.
Apply a thin layer of Lubriderm to your tattoo. Do not over- lotion your skin but apply when ever tattoo is dry.
Repeat these steps every 3 to 4 hours. Do not let your tattoo dry out.
No swimming, soaking, hot tubbing, or bathing. And definitely no rolling in jello until the tattoo is fully healed. Showers are acceptable, but try to avoid letting your tattoo soak.
Avoid direct sunlight and tanning beds. UV is the worst for a fresh/healing tattoo. After your tattoo is healed apply a nice strong sun block to avoid fading.
No picking, scratching, or shaving your tattoo. Sometimes you many develop dark heavy scabs or even a heat rash; this is not abnormal. Everyone's healing time is different. Some tattoos will heal quicker than others. Bigger tattoos will heal slower than smaller ones.
If you have excessive swelling try to keep the area elevated above or at heart level.
If you think you have an infection please contact us and your medical provider.
Remember, your friends are not tattoo artists. If you have any questions please contact us. Thanks!
